Pregnancy Swag: The Maternity Fashionista

It is about time for a very dear friend and one of the fabulous YFH? photographers, Reyanne, to make her "Fancy" debut! Reyanne is expecting her first child this September, but she isn't about to let a little baby bump get in the way of fashion. The maternity sections didn't really offer what she was looking for, so she perused different racks around town and found some stellar maxi and knee length dresses that grew with her. With a little accessorizing magic, this gal puts together the perfect ensembles to flatter her figure. Reyanne has really become quite the maternity fashionista!
That's why this week YFH? is celebrating this little mama-to-be and her knack for dressing her baby bump!

Black and White....the FANCY way!

Let's face it, black and white are great together! It's a classic combo! So, it's no surprise that this color duo made a comeback this past Spring. It graced almost every runway show, from Louis Vuitton to Alexander Wang to Michael Kors.
I may be a bit tardy to this party (it is almost August after all), but with a little inspiration from friends I've finally done black and white the "fancy" way! We (me and my personal stylist ;-) thought it was important to add a little pop of color to the look, and this vintage layered necklace was the answer! And these retro Gucci sunnies worked perfectly with the classic theme.

Playing with Florals and Prints

With Spring in full bloom, YFH? had to rep some budding prints! And the queen of florals, Liza, was the perfect muse for this week's post. Her wardrobe is filled with a collection of buds and blossoms on lovely dresses, cardis, and blouses. With a little styling sesh, and help from our girl Emily, we were able to put together a couple of looks with these feminine prints!

Straight Studded

I'm a huge fan of studs. They add a certain je ne sais quoi to any basic. I like them on handbags, shoes, and jackets. So, after perusing Pinterest for a bit you can imagine how delighted I was to find studded jean shorts, or jorts, rather ;) I love finding new ways to punk up any summer staple, especially jorts!
From my last blog post we all know I love white denim. So, I decided I would stud up some new white jean shorts.

I looked online to try and find studs to purchase in store, but was not able to find any. I read that you could buy cheap belts with studs and pull them off. So, I decided to head over to target to see if I could find any studded belts. (If you have more time you can order bulk packs of metal studs on etsy or ebay) I was unsuccessful in the belt department, but I ended up finding these clutches. Which not only had pyramid studs but also skulls. I mean, BONUS!

With a butter knife and scissors I got to work on disassembling these clutches to remove the studs and skulls. From there I put each stud in place on the back pocket to create my geometric pattern.

Then I decorated a front pocket with skulls.

I was really happy with the final result. These studs and skulls took an ordinary pair of white shorts and transformed them into seriously rockin' denim!

Yup...in my white jeans

It's been warming up here in the bay. So, I thought it was time to pull out those good ol' white jeans. As a Californian I wear my white denim almost all year long. We don't follow the tired "no white after labor day" rule. Heck, most Cali natives find ways to style them in the middle of January.
So, to celebrate this beautiful day I thought I'd style my first Spring look, with white denim of course! And, as usual, I layered like a mofo. Combining a little black leather, a couple of military inspired pieces (the parka and boots), and a button up tunic. I accesorized with my absolute fave crossbody bag, 3.1 Phillip Lim's Pashli Camera bag, and a pair of Ray-Ban sunnies.

Rowe on the Road to Atherton

I was so excited that YFH? was invited to be a part of a Trunk Show hosted by Emily and Maren of Rowe Boutique and stella & dot stylist (also, owner of the beautiful Atherton home where they set up shop) Stacy.
Rowe is an amazing boutique in Columbus, Ohio owned by Maren Roth, one of THE most stylish gals I've ever met! The boutique carries an array of contemporary designers like LNA, Iro, Foley & Corinna, Mother denim, Nation Ltd., and so much more! And lucky for us, Maren decided to take Rowe on the road to the bay area for a two day shopping event!! And trust me, they've gained quite a few new Cali followers.

Check out more on this groovy boutique: roweboutique.com

I was crushing on all the lust-worthy Spring jackets, especially this lovely white leather number!

Liza (a good friend and fellow shopper) browsed the racks and found the perfect Rowe blouse to wear out!

stella & dot stylist, Stacy, provided accessories for the event. There were gorgeous statement necklaces, unique bracelets, and even ikat print totes and cosmetic bags!

As if this event couldn't get any better...

There were yummy goodies too! Emily Stoffel of the Pig and Quill catered the event. Emily made delectable treats including a delicious take on a Vietnamese sandwich and an unexpected pineapple twist to traditional corn bread muffins!

A big THANK YOU to Emily, Maren, and Stacy for making this a fabulous Trunk Show to attend!!

As for this fancy girl, I was able to snag a few fantastic pieces that I cannot wait to wear!
